Richard is specialist writer in agriculture and science. Born with gumboots on, he was raised on a dairy farm and spent his teens helping his father break in a sheep and cattle property in lower Northland.

After managing the farm for four years he went to Massey and completed a degree in agricultural science, specialising in marketing and communications. For more than 20 years he worked as communications manager for a research organisation.

These days he writes regularly for publications like Rural News, Farm Trader and Growing Today, carries out research for the TV programme Rural Delivery. His interest is in making technical material entertaining, clear, and easy to absorb.

For eCOGENT.biz, Richard works with Peter Floyd to produce articles, films and guidelines for members, and   
                                            helps to make its concepts and benefits better known.
