What sort of data do I need to update and submit for analysis?

The data you need to marshal is often already recorded for budgeting, banking and taxation purposes and thus should be reasonably close at hand.

Some additional thought and research will need to be applied to make informed assumptions about future variables.

The key information you need to record and update regularly includes:

  • Forecasted feed (weekly rainfall, soil temperature, pasture cover, growth and Brix,  supplementary feeds, fertiliser use)
  • Forecasted stocking (births, deaths, purchases, sales)
  • Forecasted stock performance (live weight ,carcass market value, yield, milk production, wool production.
  • Coded bank statements.
  • Cash flow forecast.
  • Market value of assets and liabilities
  • Animal health treatments
